Our mission
Our mission is to transform moments of treatment into moments of courage for children living with cancer and other chronic illnesses. Through safe, non-clinical and age-appropriate Budo-based activities—including breathing, posture, movement and concentration—we help children cope with fear, stress and discomfort, strengthen their confidence and resilience, and regain a sense of control and agency.
We support their families and collaborate with trained volunteers, hospitals, academic institutions and community partners to bring Power, Peace and Purpose to children across Romania. KKC Romania is a nonprofit support and educational organization, not a healthcare provider. Our programs are designed to complement—and never replace—medical, psychological or other professional care.
We are committed to developing, evaluating and continuously improving our programs through evidence-informed practice and ethical qualitative and quantitative research, conducted or supported in collaboration with appropriately qualified academic, research and clinical partners. We aim to share relevant findings, methodologies and practical knowledge with the wider community, contributing to a better understanding of how supportive Budo-based activities may enhance children’s emotional and physical well-being.
By building strong partnerships, responsible governance and sustainable sources of funding, we seek to create a lasting organization capable of supporting children and families throughout Romania for many years to come.
